Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Brian E. Juell, M.D., F.A.C.S.

General Surgeons Reno | Dr. Brian E. Juell, M.D. A graduate of the University of Utah College of Medicine, Brian E. Juell, M.D., F.A.C.S. (Fellow of the American College of Surgeons) completed his General Surgery Residency at the University of Michigan. Dr. Juell is well regarded for his work with conditions of the breast. Other areas of special interest lie in abdominal exploration and repair, vascular disorders, colorectal procedures, advanced trauma and critical care - in which he is certified - and many other aspects of general surgery.

He is currently a member of the citywide vascular panel and a member of the Southwest Surgical Congress.

Dr Brian Juell is a member of the trauma panel at Renown Regional and a member of the surgical intensivist panel at Renown Regional. He is also the current director for Renown’s Breast Cancer Center.

Dr Juell is the past Chief of Staff for Saint Mary’s and is the Chairman of the Board for Saint Mary’s Health Plans.

He is the Chairman of the Committee of Applicants for the Nevada (District 2) American College of Surgeons.

He spends some of his off time as a volunteer for Hug High School’s Football Team as their team physician.

Dr. Alvaro H. Devia, M.D., F.A.C.S.

General Surgeons Reno | Dr. Alvaro H. Devia, M.D.Alvaro H. Devia, M.D., F.A.C.S. (fellow of the American College of Surgeons) graduated from the Southwestern Medical School, University of Texas, and subsequently completed his General Surgery Residency at the University of Utah. Dr. Devia's areas of special interest lie in advanced trauma and surgical critical care, abdominal exploration and repair, conditions of the breast, colorectal procedures, and many other aspects of general surgery. Dr. Devia was Chief of Staff at Renown Regional Medical Center from 2008 to 2009. As an active member of the Army Reserves, Dr. Devia has been deployed three times since 2003. Dr. Devia is currently on the board at Renown Regional Medical Center and is fluent in Spanish.

He is currently a member of the citywide vascular panel and a member of the Southwest Surgical Congress.

Dr. Thomas E. Rembetski, M.D.

General Surgeons Reno | Dr. Thomas E. Rembetski, M.D., Thomas E. Rembetski, M.D. graduated from the Boston University School of Medicine, and subsequently completed his General Surgery Residency at the University of Colorado Medical Center and the Oregon Health Sciences University. He then completed his Fellowship in Peripheral Vascular Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Rembetski is well regarded for his vascular and thoracic work. Other areas of special interest lie in abdominal exploration and repair, colorectal procedures, conditions of the breast, and many other aspects of general surgery. He is board certified in General and Vascular Surgery by the American Board of Surgery.

Dr Thomas Rembetski is currently a member of the vascular reading panels at both Saint Mary’s Regional and Renown Regional Medical Centers. He is also a member of the citywide vascular panel.
