Dr. Matthew J. Deeter, MD, FACS

Matthew J Deeter, M.D., F.A.C.S. (Fellow of the American College of Surgeons) is a graduate of the New York Medical College. He completed General Surgery Residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas before continuing on to fellowships in Surgical Critical Care and Trauma at Jackson Memorial Hospital of the University of Miami, Florida. Dr. Deeter was an active member of the United States Army and has been deployed twice to Iraq, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 2007 and having achieved the rank of Major. An active member of Doctors Without Borders, he has spent time doing humanitarian work in Nigeria, Sri Lanka, and South Sudan. He has also volunteered in Haiti, Cambodia, and Bangladesh.  His areas of special interest lie in Traumatic and Surgical Critical Care, esophageal surgery, and many other aspects of emergency general surgery. He is certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Deeter was also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of South Florida.


Dr. Deeter is a member of the Renown Regional Medical Center’s Trauma panel.
